An Almost Choice Made

My name is Corey and along with my wife we have decided to build our own house. Even thinking about it is scary and exciting all at the same time.

It all started with a joking statement by my father. He offered to give us a piece of land to build our house after another home we looked turned out not be what we wanted.

That single "well you could always out here", started my mind thinking. As it turns out my wife was thinking the same thing.

The positives come first. We could have the house of our dreams. Exactly the house that we want(with in our budget of course but we're not even talking budget yet). It would be out in the country just like we always wanted. We could possibly afford it.

The negative list is very small. We would have to live beside my parents which we don't feel is a bad thing at all. Everyone has told us it will be really hard, so that's a down side.

This blog will detail our journey from beginning to end. It will include my thoughts on building my own house as well as any advice I might pass on to others who might later.

My next post will be about money, which unfortunately is where it all starts.
